Vanderbilt University

Blair Academy Chamber Music- Coordinator

Students who study with non-Blair faculty are welcome to participate in chamber music. Please contact Christina at via her contact form for placement.

Playing music with others in small instrumental groups is intensely rewarding. Weekly faculty coached sessions along with weekly small instrumental group rehearsals culminate in a final performance. Students will be active participants in the collaborative process, gaining a greater knowledge of ensemble techniques and widening their musical perspective. Students will learn how to apply their knowledge of music history and theory to their musical performance decisions. By learning how to work and play together, students improve their interpersonal skills.

Private Lessons

McGann Music Studio

An important question for potential students: “why are you interested in violin?” This reveals whether there is genuine interest, curiosity, and love for music and the instrument. This is so important for one’s musical journey to be rewarding to both teacher and student.

Dedicated support at home is also imperative to the success of young children starting an instrument. Lessons should be recorded and reviewed at home.

For the best collaborative experience, students must place trust in their teacher’s expertise. When this occurs, they can create common goals together and enjoy the process.
